Currently, we are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join remotely and help deliver critical healthcare analytics that positively impact every care path in America. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Data Scientist to join our team to help post-acute providers better partner with referral sources — so that more patients receive the care they need, where they need.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, coupled with experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry
- Advanced programming skills with SQL skills required (e.g., writing advanced queries and macros, complex data sets, reverse engineering existing scripts, etc.)
- Deep understanding of Medical Claims and/or Pharmacy claims data (Medicare FFS, Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, etc.)
- Demonstrable experience working with medical coding systems (ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, MS DRG, NPPES NPI, etc.)
- Ability to work independently, dive into data and build programs to aggregate and report data
- Demonstrated experience with various data science technologies
- Outstanding critical thinking, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a growth start-up organization
- Inquisitive, self-starter with intellectual curiosity
- Knowledge of software development technologies including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.
- Ability and willingness to work with legacy SAS code as a plus
- At least Upper-Intermediate English (both written and spoken)
Responsibilities:
- Develop Python and SQL scripts necessary to support curated datasets in proprietary solutions
- Work within Snowflake in the virtual desktop to interpret, analyze, and build datasets as well as ad hoc reports
- Serve as resident expert on data sources, calculations, and methodologies
- Assist in sizing and scoping of new analytic projects, working with Product team to develop specifications and requirements
- Assist in validation of new and existing datasets to support QA/test strategy
- Design and document measure methodology and metric definitions in collaboration with other Data Scientists and Product teams
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to translate business concepts into data deliverables in our platform
- Enhance knowledge of industry subject matter through independent research and professional development
